Project Manager
The Role:
We're looking for a technical project manager to join our product development team. We're a fast paced company with lots of change, so if you are a self starter who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, you'll enjoy the opportunity. You'll be working with development teams who use Agile development methodologies so you need to be comfortable working with code that is often in flux and be able to facilitate the generation of detailed requirements from a high level need. Our staff loves to get their work in the hands of customers everyday.
In this role, you and your Birthday in a Box development team will be maintaining our existing platform which includes an e-commerce website, an order management system, a print-on-demand service and various administrative tools. At the same time, you will be involved in the implementation of our next generation platform. You’ll be working hand in hand with a technical team lead to manage the team’s projects.
With support from the development director - you will manage, facilitate and coordinate iterations and releases of a set of applications. You will work with development teams, business partners and management to maintain product and defect backlogs. A big part of your job will be to develop detailed specifications (stories) in partnership with colleagues in other business units and then work with developers to break them into development tasks. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining iterative project plans and communicating status throughout the business.
Your Qualifications/Experiences should include some (or most) of below:
- You are a skilled project manager with a minimum of 4 years project management experience, PMP is an asset.
- You are experienced with Agile development methodologies.
- You have highly developed organizational and communication skills.
- You have a sound understanding of Web and e-commerce technologies.
- Ideally, you have had exposure to a warehouse environment.
- You possess a deep understanding of Internet technologies and understand the advantages and disadvantages of their use in development cycles.
- You understand the fundamentals of Web programming and technologies.
